How College Has Affected My Life

Life in college is intensely different from the life in high school. During the two year in college, I find that many changes have occurred. College has affected my life in various ways.

First, the relationship with my parents is different now. In the past, I almost depended on others in doing everything. In college, however, I can’t see them very often. As a result, I begin to learn to be independent and handle my own affairs. Besides, I count more maturely now. My parents no longer make decisions for me, they only give me advice.

The relationship with my friends is different, too. It’s sad that I contact some of my best high school friends less and less, since we are not in the same university, not even in the same city. However, I am making new friends in college.,because we live in the dormitory in college, we spend lots of time with our roommates. We really know each other well. I'm lucky and happy to have good roommates.

The most essential change is that I know myself better. I can see my strengths and weaknesses in a more objective and accurate way. For example, I have found that I am good at handling assigned tasks, but not good at confront challenges. I am a good listener, but not a good comforter. Before entering college, I had no idea what I was interested in. Now, though I don’t have a specific future goal, I am gradually finding a certain direction. I can now make my plan for my future according to that direction.

I have just been in college for one year,however,iit has already affected my life a lot. I am eagerly looking forward to my new self after four years of college life.

However, I am making (made) new friends in college,because (for) we live in the ^same dormitory in college, we spend lots of time with our roommates. We really know each other well. I'm lucky and happy to have good roommates.
