No sticks any more

     I used to hurt myself frequently when I was a naughty little child. I rolled down the stairs when playing with the banister; I put my foot into the bicycle wheel and it was made in cast; I was stumbled by rocks and broke my lips. There were countless scratches, bruises, and trips happening in my childhood years.
 
    Among those experiences of getting injured, the most impressive one, as for me, was that the stick of the sugar-coated berry thrust into my palm, which really gave me a lesson.

    I was only ten years old then, the age when I was forbidden to eat too much candie or sweet food. But young children do not always obey their fathers' orders. Neither did I.

    I turned  the charm on elder sister and finally got my aspirational sugar coated haws on a stick. Holding the candied fruit on my hand, I went beyond myself and was so impatient and couldn't wait to have a taste that I began to eat it on my way home.

    With a mouthful of hawthorn berries, I went upstairs contentedly but absently. Paying all my attention to the delicacy, I stepped on an empty and fell down. In a panic, the pointed end of the stick was thrust into my palm by something. Tears burst out  as I felt the pain and saw blood flowing out. 

    Since then, I lose my interest in  tomatoes on sticks and take care every time there is a stick.
