Dear professor，

    I am writing this letter to inform you that I want to apply for a PHD degree in your university. I am very interested in your research fields.

    My name is Kang Jianqiao. I had studied for four years from September 2008 to June 2012 in China University of Petroleum(East China), majoring in Applied Chemistry,and I was awarded the bachelor's degree of science. China University of Petroleum(East China) is one of the best universities in China especially in the oil sector，what’s more, it belongs to the 211 project universities. With my good performance at school , I got admission to graduate school at my alma master.

During my diploma project, I did some research in the fields of asphalt and emulsified asphalt and published three relevant papers, which is great useful to the railway engineering and the selection of highway pavement materials.

I will take my TOEFL test on 8th,December,2012. So I would like to join your research team in 2013 and get a PHD degree in 3 or 4 years.
