Wastes left behind, two travelers are taking food when going for a sightseeing on a small boat, ignoring that the lake is already filled with trash. And below the picture, there is a caption which implies,"'after' the journey or 'the litter' made during it".

The purpose of the cartoonist is to vividly reveal a universal phenomenon among Chinese visitors-few of them are conscious of keeping the scenic spots clean and tidy-whose improper manner would be followed by several negative influences. First and foremost, the environmental and ecological system is absolutely on the top of the victim list. With water polluted and earth littered, the balance of the nature is broken, which may threaten both of aquatic animals and terrestrial ones. In addition, the scenery that has been destroyed could disappoint those who come for a visit later. Last but not least, it is a reflection of lacking social morality to throw out rubbish regardless of the place.

Thus, relevant laws and regulations should be legislated to normalise the behaviour of tourists. Besides, it is high time that we enhanced people's awareness of environmental protection. Only in this way can tourism assures a developing future.
