Marriage in the US is a moral and legal matter. If a marriage wanted to be admitted by others, firstly, the marriage must be a legal contract. So the gay couple usually cannot get married, except in some small concessions.

 

Marriage in the US also is an economic arrangement. Though many young people would like to choose the other half by them, their family always interfere them about the economic condition. And many people would consider the economic matter before they choose a marriage.
