The diagram illustrates typical daily demand for electricity between summer and winter and what the electricity used for.

In the line graph, the typical daily demand for electricity in winter is higher than that in summer throughout the whole period. In winter, the highest daily demand for electricity is about 48000 units of electricity at 22:00 while the lowest Is just over 30000 units at 8:00. However, the situation is different in summer. There are two highest demands in the day, with just over 20000 units at 14:00 and just under 20000 units at 23:00 respectively.

In pie chart, heating accounts for almost a half percentage in using electricity while the other three usages share almost same percentage. Overall, the amount of electricity used in winter is two times as much as that in summer and the electricity is mainly used for heating in ordinary English families.
