1.本课时的教学重点是帮助学生理解句型::In China / the US , drivers drive on the right side of the road. In England and Australia , however, drivers drive on the left side of the road.

2本课时的教学难点是学生对文化差异的了解:中国和美国车辆靠右行驶;在英国,澳大利亚,新加坡等国靠左行驶。

 Step 1Preparation

1 review the traffic lights , traffic rules .

  T : How many traffic lights ?

  S : Three .

  T : What are they ?

  S : red , green , yellow .

  T : red means ____ / green means _____ / yellow means ______ .

  S : stop / go / wait .

  (1) Stop at a red light . (2) Go at a green light . (3) Wait at a yellow light .

  2. give the speech :

  There are three traffic lights : red , go and yellow .[  There are three traffic rules : stop at a red light . go at a green light . wait at a yellow .

  Do you remember ?

2 .song : How do you go to school ?

  (1) How do you go to school ?

  (2) How do you go to Canada / the US / England / Australia ? (show the flags )

  Step2. Pre-reading

T : These are traffic signs , we must remember . And there are some other traffic rules we must know and follow . First I show you a picture , and find out the mistake in China .

  S : The taxi is right , the bus is wrong .

  T : The taxi is running on the right side of the road . so it’s right .

  The bus is running on the left side of the road , so it’s wrong .

  == on the right side of the road

  == on the left side of the road (带读,并通过图示来使学生明白它的意思)

  T : In China , drivers drive on the right side of the road . In which country , drivers drive on the right side of the road , too ? In which country , drivers drive on the left side of the road ?

  (带读country

  Now , read the passage , and find the countries .

  Right side : China , the US ( America )

  Left side : England , Australia .

  Then ask students to read the passage follow the tape

Last read by the mselves and tick or cross .

2)细读

T:  Now,read the article carefully in groups.Then answer and write the questions on your book.

学生通过小组合作,细读课文,完成课本上的题目。学生回答后,教师对答案进行订正。

3)播放本部分课文的录音,提示学生注意录音中的语音语调。

4)让学生模仿录音中的语音语调大声朗读短文。

【设计意图:通过听录音和大声朗读,培养学生的语感。】

  Step4. Post-reading

1.学生分组戴上头饰表。演AB部分的对话和C部分的故事。教师注意启发学生的角色意识,尤其是扮演警察的学生要注意表演时的语气与神态需符合身份。

2. Pronunciation

  1) ea / i:/ peak , beat , team , deal (ask students to pronounce them )

  i / I/ pig , big , tin , dish ( ask students to pronounce them )

1.做本单元活动手册配套练习。

2.Homework:

     小组内编演关于交通规则的表演剧,可以利用chant等。
